Some must-read stuff

My buddy Brian Sandalow has a fascinating story on the status of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, whose future in the CHL is tenuous, at best.

And, if you believe Sandalow, the entire future of the CHL is tenuous.

One thing I know I'm going to be looking into: The possibility that there is a deadline of Tuesday for teams to commit to the CHL. I find it hard to believe the Komets will be letting anyone know anything for sure by then; they want to see the makeup of all the leagues.

  • Catching up on some other things, did you notice that the Turner Conference Finals between Colorado and Rapid City are tied at 1. Check this out -- click here -- because referee Jon McIsaac actually called some diving. Amazing, since he failed to call oh-so-many of them against the Rush in Games 1 and 5 of its victory over the Komets in the semis.
  • In the Berry Conference, Allen and Bossier-Shreveport are also tied at 1 in the much-more-sensibly formatted best-of-seven series.
  • For today's walk down memory lane, I give you this line brawl between the Komets and Elmira from 2006-07. Ah, you know, sometimes I really do miss the UHL.
