Verbatim: Bluffton woman wins $100,000 prize

Williams

Statement issued Tuesday:

INDIANAPOLIS – A Bluffton woman has won big money playing the Hoosier Lottery. Rose Williams is the first lucky player to win a top prize of $100,000 playing the Hoosier Lottery’s newest draw game Tag 6. Williams matched all six Tag 6 digits, in order from left to right, in the Wednesday, April 27 drawing. The Wells County woman purchased her lucky ticket at Handi Spot at 616 W. Lancaster St. in Bluffton.

The mother of three grown sons and grandmother of “bunches” of grandchildren says she is excited, but intends to hold onto her winnings. She is entirely realistic about what a $100,000 win means.

“The best part is knowing this cushions my retirement,” said Williams. “I’ll always be a penny pincher. I’ll still go to garage sales and the dollar store.”

The April 27 Tag 6 winning numbers were: 9 1 9 3 5 1.

Tag 6 is available for purchase only with Hoosier Lotto, Indiana’s Hometown favorite Big Jackpot Game. Players who purchase Tag 6 with Hoosier Lotto will receive a set of six Quick Pick digits (between 0 and 9) to match against the six randomly drawn Tag 6 digits.

Tag 6 costs $1 per play and offers prizes from $2 to $100,000. Tag 6 digits are separate from Hoosier Lotto numbers and the prizes are in addition to Hoosier Lotto prizes.

Tag 6 is simple to play. Match the digits in exact order from left to right to win. Tag 6 numbers are randomly drawn every Wednesday and Saturday evening.

To play Tag 6 simply buy a Hoosier Lotto ticket and answer “yes” when the clerk asks if you want to add Tag 6 or select Tag 6 on the Hoosier Lotto play slip. Tag 6 digits print on the ticket below Hoosier Lotto numbers.

As with all Hoosier Lottery games, the net income generated from the sale of Tag 6 is turned over to the state. Last year, the Hoosier Lottery transferred $190 million to the state where it was allocated to teachers, police and firefighters retirement funds as well as the Build Indiana Fund which ultimately reduces Hoosiers’ license plate costs.

Players have 180 days to claim prizes on Hoosier Lottery draw games. The Hoosier Lottery reminds players to always play responsibly.
