Keys to the game

Lansing scored six runs in the fourth inning and added four more in the fifth on the way to a 12-2 victory against the TinCaps in front of 2,964 fans Wednesday at Parkview Field.

Fort Wayne starting pitcher Adys Portillo gave up seven runs on three hits in 3 1/3 innings. He walked five, struck out four, hit one batter and had three wild pitches. Reliever Deiber Sanchez surrendered five runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Here are some of the highlights.

Key at-bat: Gustavo Pierre drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning, giving the Lugnuts a 6-1 lead. Pierre added a three-run home run in the fifth inning.
