Keys to the game

Dayton sent 10 batters to the plate during a six-run fourth inning as the Dragons topped the TinCaps 7-2. The Parkview Field attendance was 6,077.

Here are the highlights.

Key at-bat: Dayton had the bases loaded, and a 1-0 lead, with two outs in the fourth. Juan Duran then hit a fly to left center. Fort Wayne left fielder Jose Dore chased it down and had the ball in his glove, but it fell out when he bumped into center fielder Rymer Liriano. The three base runners scored on the triple, making it 4-0.

More in the fourth: Six of Dayton's seven hits came during the fourth inning.

Blackwood at the plate: Jake Blackwood had three of Fort Wayne's five hits. He hit a solo home run in the ninth, his sixth of the year. Blackwood drove in both runs for the TinCaps.

- Fort Wayne starting pitcher Adys Portillo, the tough-luck loser who fell to 0-6. Fort Wayne had a chance to make a play on at least two of the three fly balls that ended up going for hits during the six-run fourth inning.
