Family Dollar groundbreaking is Wednesday

Written statement issued Tuesday by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation:

Governor Mitch Daniels will join Jim Kelly, president and chief operating officer of Family Dollar Stores, Inc., and other company executives along with local representatives at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a groundbreaking ceremony of the new Family Dollar distribution facility to be built in Ashley, Ind.

The Fortune 300 retailer announced in January that it will create up to 350 jobs in Indiana. Family Dollar will invest nearly $70 million on the 815,000 square-foot facility, and plans to begin operations in the spring of 2012.
