And Another Thing

Wide open spaces

Well, this cannot be good news if your sporting fancy runs to cheering for a guy named Dale Junior, and howling over the latest rasslin' match between Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, aka Jackwagon One and Jackwagon Two.

The most alarming part: Speedway president Jeff Belskus actually admitting that there's likely to be more empty seats at the Brickyard this year -- a startling admission from the head of a place that tends to regard attendance talk the way the Kremlin once regarded ... well, talk about anything, pretty much.

All I know is, those of us who remember the ghost town of last July -- vast swatches of empty seats in the short chutes and turns, not to mention some suspiciously deserted-looking suites -- now have something new to call this event.

Brickyard 400 it was. Crickets 400, apparently, it will be now.
