You'd think Tony LaRussa, being a big-deal major league manager and all, would have more elevated matters to attend to than getting into a you-know-what-ing match with the homer radio announcer for an opposing team.
Couple of things about that:
1. Judging from the facts in evidence during the Reds' win 9-7 Tuesday to sweep the three-game series in Cincy, the Cardinals are a bunch of whiners.
2. But LaRussa still should have just let this go.
He gains nothing by sniping at Brennaman, who's paid to engage in this sort of thing. LaRussa is not. So, laugh it off, let it go, whatever.
One more thing: Remember when it was the Cardinals and Cubs who used to engage like this? Now, sadly, it's the Reds and Cards who are the blood rivals -- if for no other reason than you have be relevant for a rivalry to mean something, and the Cubs are not anymore.
