Irish add offensive line recruit

Notre Dame added a second offensive lineman to its 2012 recruiting class.

Mark Harrell, a 6-foot-5, 265-pounder from Charlotte, N.C., orally committed to the Irish on Thursday, according to Irish Sports Daily.

Harrell joins offensive lineman Taylor Decker in next year’s class, which now has seven commitments.

“I felt like it was just the best place for me as a person as well as a football player and a student,” Decker told Irish Sports Daily. “The overall academic feel for it, an incredible school, incredible business program. Not only the academics, but the people that go there, the whole Notre Dame family. They’re just great people, everyone is so genuine. I just feel like everyone is so excited about the football program down there. It just felt right for me. I love the coaching staff as well. They seem like great coaches, great guys. I think we’re going to turn this thing around. I’m incredibly excited.”
