During a 25th anniversary celebration this month, the Indiana Coalition Against Sexual Assault received a check for more than $12,000 raised by offenders in the Indiana Department of Corrections.

In addition to the check, the organization was presented with a 25th anniversary commemorative quilt. The quilt was made by offenders in the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility's PLUS unit.

PLUS is a faith and character-based re-entry initiative within the Indiana Department of Corrections. Participants choose to learn from character-based materials or faith-based materials and the living units are geared towards teaching core fundamental values that challenge and focus on positive reinforcement through learned behavior. The emphasis of this voluntary initiative focuses on strengthening spiritual, moral and character development as well as life-skills.
