Statement issued Thursday:

Ft. Wayne, IN – June 2, 2011 – Frontier Communications (NYSE-FTR) announced today the addition of 25 new positions in Fort Wayne, bringing the total new employment in the area to over 225 in the last six months. Two job fairs will be held for the public at the WorkOne Center at 201 E. Rudisill Blvd, Suite 102, on Saturday, June 4, 2011, from 8 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Fort Wayne was selected for several reasons. First being the recognition of the skilled workforce that northeast Indiana offers as well as the strong Midwest work ethic. In addition to the robust telecommunication infrastructure that was designed and built for high volume voice and data traffic.

These Frontier jobs are Residential Sales and Service Consultants known as Expert Conversationalists and will have a starting pay of $10.50 per hour plus the potential for performance bonuses. “Frontier has several centers to choose from across the country to locate these positions but due to the friendly business climate and outstanding working relationship with our IBEW labor partners, we continue to choose to bring these quality jobs to Fort Wayne,” said Bill Zielke, Vice President - General Manager.

“This is another vote of confidence in Frontier’s continued relationship with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and WorkOne as well as local economic development organizations in Fort Wayne,” said Don Banowetz, President, Frontier’s Midwest Region. “I am confident that with the public-private partnership we enjoy, it will continue to be one of the select and strategic work center locations among the 27 states in which we conduct business.”

Recently Frontier was awarded the “WorkOne Achievement Award” for partnering with WorkOne to create employment opportunities for local Hoosiers. The Award was presented on April 6, 2011 at a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse.

Frontier recognizes the skilled workforce that northeast Indiana offers as well as the strong Midwest work ethic in its choice to locate these jobs here in Fort Wayne. In addition, it reinforces Frontier’s commitment to maintain a 100% U.S. based workforce and adds to its employee base in Fort Wayne of nearly 1,300.
