Keys to the game

From the Sherlock Holmes file, Thursday's TinCaps game was the Sign of Four.

Four TinCaps pitchers gave up a combined 16 hits in a 9-8 loss to the Clinton LumberKings at Parkview field.

It was the fourth consecutive home loss for the TinCaps (23-30).

The setback came despite home runs from Rymer Liriano, Jake Blackwood and Cole Tyrell.

A concern was that first baseman Tommy Medica suffered an injury while diving back into second base in the sixth inning. He immediately left the game and was replaced by Wes Cunningham. The status of his injury was uncertain after the game.
