Three named to all-star team

Jake Blackwood was named the starting third baseman for the Eastern Division for the Midwest League All-Star Game. He will be joined on the roster by Fort Wayne pitchers Keyvius Sampson and Matt Jackson. The game is June 21 at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa, home of the Quad Cities River Bandits.

Blackwood has a .286 batting average. He leads Fort Wayne with seven home runs and 32 RBI.

Sampson is 6-1 with a 2.24 ERA. Jackson is 3-0 with a 2.62 ERA, working mostly as a reliever. He has made two starts, working nine scoreless innings.

All three are deserving choices for the TinCaps. Luis Domoromo has a .319 average with three homers and 14 RBI, but he has only played in 27 games.
