Local Olympic gold medalist Lloy J. Ball, 39, was arrested Saturday night in Steuben County on a misdemeanor charges related to drunken driving.
According to court documents, Indiana State Police Trooper Christopher Kinsey pulled Ball over on Indiana 727 at about 11:30 p.m. after Ball's 2009 Chevrolet was driving left of center.
Ball was speeding and almost completely on the wrong side of the road. When Kinsey pulled him over, Ball's eyes were glassy and bloodshot and he failed a number of field sobriety tests.
According to court documents, Ball's blood alcohol concentration was at 0.13 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
He was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, endangering another person and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of greater than 0.08 percent.
Ball was booked into the Steuben County Jail early Sunday morning and was released after he posted on $255 bail. No court date has yet been set.
