Ukari Figgs is leaving her assistant coaching position at Purdue to become Kentucky's assistant athletics director for women's basketball, Purdue announced.
Figgs, a Purdue graduate who helped the program win a national championship in 1999, had been an assistant coach for the Boilermakers for two seasons.
Purdue coach Sharon Versyp said in a statement that she supports Figgs' decision to "get closer to home, take on more of an administrative role and travel less."
Figgs and her husband are from the Lexington area.
Versyp now will need to fill an assistant spot as well as hire a video coordinator, the latter spot vacated when Ben Coomes left for a spot on Southeast Missouri's staff.
