Pottery that suits the knitter (or crocheter)

A knitter's bowl created by Barb Lund

I dragged the boyfriend to the Art Fair at Winona Lake Saturday morning (actually, despite the heat, he was very gracious about going). We walked around mostly just marveling at the terrific work by artists from around Indiana when I stumbled upon a pottery display.

It was Barb Lund's booth and we both commented on the color scheme she uses in her functional pottery pieces. Lund is, apparently, known for her earring holders (found here), but it was a new piece she came up with that caught my eye.

A knitter's bowl. Yep, a bowl to hold that unruly ball of yarn, with a notch to run the yarn through and holes to keep your needles when you set your project down. It was at that point the boyfriend became the photographer, using his much better cell phone camera to grab a shot of the bowl so I could have a picture with this post.

The bowl was $38, and would make a great conversation piece (of course, it's also functional). She typically sells them, and other items, at art fairs she attends. Her website is dedicated to her earring holders, but contact her if you're interested, she might be willing to work something out. Her number is 812-339-8476.
