Sunshine and Splashing Water

Camera: NIKON D2Hs

Shutter: 1/800 s

Aperture: f/9

Exposure Setting: Manual (Pattern Metering)

ISO: 200

Strobe Flash: Did Not Fire

Lens Focal Length: 435 mm

White Balance: Manual

Editor's Note: This is a deceptively simple photo. By using a super-long lens, Sam compressed the depth of the photograph, making the water and the subject seem closer together than they really are. He was also careful to keep the background nice and clean, so that there's nothing to distract the eye from the foreground and middle ground elements.
