Padres tryout set for Parkview Field

The San Diego Padres will hold a tryout at Parkview Field on June 30.

High school and college players between the ages of 16 and 22 who are currently not drafted or under an affiliated Major League Baseball team contract are invited to showcase their baseball skills at the tryout camp conducted by area scouts of the Padres' organization.

The tryout is free of charge. Position player check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.; pitchers should check in starting at 11:30 a.m.

All players under the age of 18 will need to have their approved registration waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian before the tryout camp or on the day of the event.

All players trying out will need to bring the following items – uniforms, gloves, shoes and/or cleats, and catching equipment if needed.
