If Dad likes a good steak, he has plenty of dining options for Fathers Day. Here are some of the area restaurants celebrating on Sunday.
Halls Tavern at Coventry, 5745 Coventry Lane, will offer a rib-eye steak with two sides for $17.99. Or get a 7-ounce sirloin and shrimp with special sides and the chefs featured dessert for $11.99. For reservations, call 459-2893.
Halls Factory, 5811 Coldwater Road, will offer a $17.99 steak special. The 18-ounce T-bone is served with two sides. Bloody Marys are $5. For reservations, call 484-8693.
The Lucky Moose, 622 E. Dupont Road, will have two options, each for $9.95. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., enjoy pancakes, omelets, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, barbecue chicken, ribs, pulled pork and the salad bar. From 4 to 8 p.m. feast on pizza, wings, the same barbecue items and the salad bar. For reservations, call 490-5765.
T.W. Fable, 360 N. Main St. in Bluffton, will be open noon to 6 p.m. serving all-you-can-eat prime rib for $36. The menu also will feature mahi mahi tacos, a Belgian waffle tower with truffle butter and honey, eggs Florentine, green eggs and ham Benedict, grilled melon and prosciutto, and steak tips and fries.

Prepare feast at Olive Twist
Learn how to whip up a great meal for Dad during a demonstration cooking class Saturday at the Olive Twist in Covington Plaza.
Laura Wilson, who owns La Dolce Vita in Roanoke and has trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, will run the class, called A Feast Fit for a King, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The menu features smashed tomato Caesar salad, shrimp scampi al Dragoncello (with orange, tarragon, garlic and red pepper), risotto and strawberry shortcake with balsamic vinaigrette.
The class is $60. Advance registration is required; call 436-3866.
The Olive Twist also will have a salad class at 6:30 p.m. on June 27 with local chef Janie Ebinger.
Its $12; registration is required.
New eateries opening doors
Wus Chinese restaurant has opened at 4411 Coldwater Road, in the former Ponderosa. The menu includes dishes such as red shrimp, tangerine crispy beef and spicy honey chicken.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant was destroyed by fire in March 2010 and was rebuilt in the same location.

Signs are going up for Koto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi, 301 E. Washington Center Road in the former Bar-B-Cutie.
Café Fraiche will open soon at 300 Washington Blvd. in the lobby of the Lamplight Inn. It will offer breakfast and lunch on weekdays.
For Goodness Cakes is coming to 6014 N. Clinton St. in the Washington Square plaza.
Mead, honey wines at local foods dinner
Mead was made to pair with chicken tikka masala.
Taste them together at 6 p.m. on June 28, when JK ODonnells has its next local foods dinner, highlighting New Day Meadery in Indianapolis.
The menu also features an ahi tuna lettuce wrap, grilled duck with root-vegetable barley salad, raspberry-barbecue pork slider and roast leg of lamb. There will be a Guinness and chocolate cheesecake for dessert.
In addition to the semi-dried mead, the honey wines will include plum, peach, raspberry and blueberry versions.
Local farms providing meat and produce for the meal are Gunthorp Farms in LaGrange, County Gardens & Farm Market in Roanoke, Richert Ranch in New Haven and Home Place Gourmet in Decatur.
The meadery owners will discuss the history of mead and how it is made.
The dinner is $35, which doesnt include tax or gratuity.

T.W. Fable adds hours, menu
Since it is adding Tuesday night hours for the summer, T.W. Fable in Bluffton is moving each of its Destination Tasting dinners one day earlier, to the last Monday of the month.
The next one is from 6 to 9 p.m. June 27, focusing on the Midwest, with regional wines and a bourbon tasting option.
The menu will feature an Indiana creamed corn croquette, a deconstructed Chicago Dog with brown mustard custard, and Ohio Wagyu beef with mushroom risotto and black truffle foam.

The restaurant, 360 N. Main St., also has created a Sunset menu of lighter fare, with salads, flatbread pizza, wraps and a lobster roll.
Its available 5 to 6 p.m. in the dining room, or all evening for those sitting in the outdoor café area.
Summer hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays and 5 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
From July 10 to Aug. 28, the outdoor café will be open Sundays for the Summer Concert Series at Kehoe Park. Service hours are to be determined.
Dicky’s planning beer tastings
Every Thursday night through August, Dickys Wild Hare will offer a free beer tasting and live music.
The event runs from 8 to 10 p.m.
This Thursday, Bells Brewery will be featured and Island Vibe will perform.
