Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs, left, greets punter Reggie Hodges after arriving at the NFL football team's headquarters in Berea, Ohio, on April 26.

A good sign

Want to know how I'm sure the NFL is close to a deal?

Because of stuff like this.

I mean, if an NFL player who makes what Josh Cribbs makes feels compelled to go to court over a $15 parking ticket, like any working schmo ... well, that tells me the players are starting to count their pennies. And that, in turn, tells me 48 percent of the revenues (the current offer on the table) probably sounds pretty good about now.

Call me crazy.
