Irish land safety, report says

Notre Dame is keeping an in-state safety in Indiana, according to a report.

John Turner, a 6-foot-2, 200-pounder from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, orally committed to the Irish, according to Irish Illustrated.

Turner picked up an offer from Notre Dame after attending a recent football camp in South Bend, and he committed to the Irish on Sunday, according to the report.

"I just loved the school and the tradition," Turner told Irish Illustrated. "I'm a big tradition person. It just seemed like if I ever got the opportunity I would go there."

Turner, a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com, is the 11th player to commit to Notre Dame for the Class of 2012. He is the fourth defensive back in the class.
