Komets re-sign Boucher

The Komets re-signed goaltender Nick Boucher for the 2011-12 season.

It'll be Boucher's fifth consecutive season with the Komets.

He's helped the franchise to three Turner Cup championships and was the IHL Goaltender of the Year in 2008-09.

"I think Fort Wayne has started to become a home for me," Boucher said in a phone interview. "Obviously given the season we had last year, I think a lot of guys who are hoping to come back feel that we have something to prove, and I'm definitely no different from them."

Boucher played in 42 games last season and was 18-15-6 with a 2.96 goals-against-average in the franchise's first season in the CHL. That GAA was his highest during his stint with the Komets.

"I think I was inconsistent at times, but overall, in the past few seasons I've had here, I've had great seasons, and last year was more one you'd probably categorize as a good one, OK season," he said.

"I wasn't overly disappointed, but I think given the inconsistency in my play and the team in general, that's definitely going to be something I will -- and I think the team will -- look to improve this season."
