Want to learn about metal smithing? How about felting? Well, there's a class for that at IPFW.
In the metal smithing workshop, you will be make a food safe pewter cup or vessel with a knotted wire rim by fusing and soldering with acetylene torches, metal stretching and forming by hand using polished hammers and files. And, learn to use metal smithing equipment such as acetylene torches, hammers, saws and files. Tools and studio equipment and materials are provided. All skill levels welcome. Class size is limited and the cost is $129.
In the one-day felting workshop you will learn how to needle felt with artist and IPFW assistant professor Laurel Campbell. All supplies are provided, including a needle felting kit to take home. Each participant will complete one project during the session. Bring a sack lunch, and spend the day learning the art of felting. The cost is $95.
