BJ’s Fish & Chips also serves up burgers, wings

Serving perch, catfish, whiting and tilapia, BJ’s Fish & Chips has opened at 2516 Pontiac St., near the fire station and Fort Wayne Foundry.

The menu also features burgers, wings, salads, hot dogs, baked spaghetti and a fried bologna sandwich, plus fries, onion rings and desserts.

You also can place orders for fish of 12, 21 or 50 pieces.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It’s closed on Sundays.

La Margarita marks 3RF with meal specials

To celebrate the Fort Wayne Newspapers Three Rivers Festival, La Margarita, 2713 S. Calhoun St., is offering specials through Saturday.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., if you buy one lunch, get another of equal or lesser value for half price.

From 3 p.m. to closing, order one South of the Border dinner and get one for half price.

Or get a carryout taco box for $5.99. It has two hard-shell beef tacos, rice, beans, chips, hot sauce and a bottle of water.

Liberty Diner marks 11 years

Feast on the best of Liberty Diner, 2929 Goshen Road, as it celebrates its 11th anniversary with daily specials throughout the summer.

The $8 anniversary menu is available from 4 p.m. until closing Sundays through Thursdays.

Those featured entrées are a Mediterranean salad, Caesar salad, half-pound steak burger, Mediterranean chicken, spaghetti marinara, turkey Manhattan, mushroom meatloaf, calf liver, portobello mushroom sandwich, veal parmesan and fried fish.

Each is served with a cup of soup and a dessert.

Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, except Fridays and Saturdays, when the restaurant is open 24 hours. For information, call 484-9666.

Triangle Park marks 25 years

Because Hall’s Triangle Park will mark its 25th anniversary Monday, the restaurant is starting the celebration this week.

There will be daily food and drink specials, plus a 10-ounce prime rib dinner with two sides for $14.99.

The Francie Zucco Jazz Trio will play in the bar tonight, and Mike Conley will perform on the deck Friday night.

On Monday, diners can enjoy a 25 percent discount on appetizers.

Or order from the “Dinner for Two” menu, which features prime rib, chicken Kiev, cod, sirloin and fried shrimp. Enjoy two entrées off that menu for $25, which includes sides and birthday cake.

Kirk Jones and Anything Goes will perform on the deck Monday night.

Freebies for ‘Potter’ fans

On Thursday, Jefferson Pointe will celebrate the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” the final film in the franchise series, with various food-related events.

The food court will show “Harry Potter” movies all day.

From 5 to 7 p.m., Chick-Fil-A will give away one free chicken sandwich to diners dressed up as their favorite character. At Chipotle Mexican Grill, costumed customers who buy a burrito can get a second one free.

Tidbits

•The new Panda Express at Apple Glen will celebrate its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Customers can get a free two-entrée plate and a 22-ounce fountain drink.

•The opening date for Quaker Steak & Lube, 407 Coliseum Blvd. W., has changed several times since January. It now is expected to open in mid-August in the former Don Pablo’s.

•Caribbean Island Restaurant, 3311 E. State Blvd., has closed.

•Dicky’s Wild Hare, 2910 Maplecrest Road, will have a free beer tasting from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday featuring Victory Brewing Co. and music by Left Lane Cruiser. These events, with different breweries and local bands each Thursday, will run through August.
