James Darnell hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning as Tucson rallied to beat Las Vegas 5-3 in front of 5,011 fans Friday at Parkview Field.
Tucson scored three runs in the seventh inning to take a 3-2 lead. Las Vegas scored once in the top of the eighth to tie the game.
Darnell, who played in Fort Wayne in 2009, hit a solo home run on the first pitch of the eighth inning. The Padres added another run on a sacrifice fly by former Wizard Cedric Hunter.
Brad Brach, another member of the 2009 squad, got the save.
