Keys to the game

Brad Mills took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, leading Las Vegas to a 5-0 victory against Tucson in the final game of the Triple-A series at Parkview Field. Matt Clark broke up the no-hit bid with a single leading off the eighth. The Padres finished with one hit, losing three of four in the series.

Here are the highlights.

Key at-bat: Jayson Nix hit a three-run home run off of Jon Leicester in the third inning to give the 51s a 4-0 lead. Nix had three home runs in the series.

Key out: Mills used a changeup to keep the Padres guessing all day. He struck out Ali Solis in the eighth, his sixth of the game, with two runners on and one out.

Quotable

"He threw three or four pitches for strikes whenever he wanted to. That made it tough. He's got a little deception. He knows what he's doing. He kept us off-balanced all day."
