How to vote in The Dirt's garden photo contest

We’re trying something new this year. You’ll go to the photo gallery and cast your vote with a thumbs-up vote on your favorites. The winner will be the photo with the most votes come midnight Aug. 1.

To vote, you simply have to register using your email address, then confirm it. If you are already signed up to comment on blogs at, there is no need to register; you can just start clicking next to thumbs.

Signing up takes less than a minute, and then you can go through the gallery and indicate which ones you like best. You can vote for as many photos as you like but can vote only once for each photo.

If aren't interested in voting, just looking at the pictures, you do not need to register.

You are welcome to ask your family and friends to vote, which I know a few people have done already.

If you have problems registering or voting, please email us at and let us know what's happening.
