Bengino’s adding 2 pizza, wing shops

Catering to pizza and steak lovers, new restaurants are expanding the city’s menu.

•Two new Bengino’s Pizza locations have opened, serving pizza, subs and wings.

The one at 511 E. Dupont Road, in the former Hungry Howie’s Pizza, is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The location at 5825 Maplecrest Road, the former Marco’s Pizza, is open 4 to 10 p.m. daily.

•Quaker Steak & Lube, 407 Coliseum Blvd. W., has an official opening date: 3 p.m. Aug. 10.

The restaurant, part of a national chain, has renovated the former Don Pablo’s. It will also have bar and patio seating.

The menu will feature steaks, steak burgers, ribs, wings (with a choice of 20 sauces), flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts.

It also has a children’s menu.

Taste of world at wine workshop

Sample six wines from around the world during a tasting workshop Aug. 11 at the Continuum Art Gallery, 125 W. Wayne St.

Dan and Krista Stockman will discuss regional pairings – including those from Austria, Chile and New Zealand – and give tips on finding new wines.

The workshop, catered by JK O’Donnell’s, begins at 7 p.m.

Peony Tea House celebrates 5 years

Raise your teacup to Peony Tea House, 503 W. Wayne St., which will celebrate its fifth anniversary Aug. 6.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy cucumber, watercress and egg salad tea sandwiches; a variety of teas; cheddar cheese puffs; and scones, pastries and other baked goods.

The meal is $15.12, which includes tax and gratuity.

Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays. Reservations are recommended.

•Hall’s Tavern at Coventry, 5745 Coventry Lane, will have a single-malt scotch tasting with appetizers from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Admission is $30. Cigars will be for sale. Reservations are required; call 459-2893.

•La Margarita, 2713 S. Calhoun St., temporarily will be closed from Monday to Aug. 9, while owner Leo Ochoa is on vacation. It will reopen at 11 a.m. Aug. 10.
