A northwest Ohio woman was killed Wednesday evening in a crash north of Van Wert, Ohio.

Vineet N. Parkhe, 26, of Fairlawn, Ohio, was going west on Convoy Road about 6:15 p.m. when his Chevrolet Traverse failed to stop at the stop sign at Dutch John Road, according to a statement from the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The statement said his crossover SUV struck a 1994 Ford Mustang driven by Tamela S. Gibson, 41, of Scott, Ohio. Gibson died at the scene.

Parkhe and a passenger were treated at an area hospital and released, the patrol said.

The highway patrol was assisted by Van Wert Fire and EMS, Scott Fire and EMS, and the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
