Notre Dame will add another impressive piece to its defensive line in 2012.

The Irish landed an oral commitment from Warren Central defensive tackle Sheldon Day on Wednesday, according to multiple on-line reports.

The 6-foot-2, 278-pound Day is Notre Dame's second in-state recruit. The Irish also have an oral commitment from David Perkins of South Bend's Washington High School.

Day is a four-star recruit and is listed as the seventh best player at his position by Scouts.com. He is also rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com.

Day's decision was reported by Irish Illustrated, Irish Sports Daily and Blue and Gold News.
