Purdue's roster includes three players with ties to the Fort Wayne-area.

Safety Landon Feichter is a redshirt freshman. He attended Bishop Dwenger. He was a walk-on in 2010.

"I just wanted to prove to myself that I could play in the Big Ten," he said.

Kevin Ballinger, a senior long snapper from Bluffton, joined the team as a walk-on in 2009. He has not seen an action, but is listed on the team's preseason depth chart.

Freshman walk-on quarterback Austin Parker spent one year at Homestead and another at Northrop before moving to Florida. He went to Mount Vernon last year.

"It feels like I'm back home," said Parker, the son of former Boilermaker basketball player Eugene Parker.

We'll have more on the area players at a later date.
