Editor's Note: In this photo, Laura is using a visual technique that photographers call "layering." It means that you try to have good information in all of the layers of the image: the foreground, the middle ground and the background.
It's a great technique when you can pull it off and Laura has done a great job here. The foreground even includes leading lines that draw the eye through the picture. Very nice work.
