Thanks to reader Jerry Noble for taking photos of some interesting vehicles and their riders camping at Johnny Appleseed Park:

"While commuting to work by bicycle this morning, I came upon approximately 30 riders camped out at the campground at Johnny Appleseed Park in FW. These 2 said the group is trekking from Portland, Oregon to Washington D.C. in their Human Powered Vehicles (HPV's)."

Noble said they told them they were heading to Bluffton and on the way to Shelby, Ohio.

"I know that these bikes can cruise much faster than regular bicycles. Was an interesting sight. Wish I had time to see them depart and cruise down the highway," Noble said in his email.
