And Another Thing

So apparently Jim Irsay really was goofin' on us with all that Hattiesburg business.

The Mad Tweeter's latest riff is, apparently, on the level, and it doesn't involve Brett Favre. It involves Kerry Collins, whom the Colts have apparently snatched from the back of the lot at Bargain Bob's Used QBs.

Not to bang on Collins, who's a two-time Pro Bowler. But he's not exactly savior material: He's 38 years old and, when the Colts came calling, he was officially retired after playing in 10 games for Tennessee last year, completing 57 percent of his passes for 1,823 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He was also sacked 13 times in those 10 games.

Nonetheless, he's better than the guys who are holding Peyton Manning's coat. And his signing is the latest piece of evidence that Manning's condition is far more worrisome than the Colts are publicly letting on.
