Romney accepts Indiana GOP invitation

INDIANAPOLIS -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is the third candidate in the 2012 GOP field to accept the Indiana Republican Party's invitation to address Hoosiers at a presidential candidate forum.

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, will visit Sept. 23. He will speak to Republican supporters, candidates and elected officials in downtown Indianapolis.

"The road to the White House will travel through the Heartland of America – right through Indiana," said state party Chairman Eric Holcomb. "We are pleased Governor Mitt Romney has accepted our invitation to visit with Hoosiers to discuss the best path forward for a nation faced with record debt and unemployment."

Herman Cain spoke last week and Jon Huntsman is visiting Aug. 29.
