TinCaps leading 5-2

On the day he was selected as the Midwest League's MVP and Prospect of the Year, the TinCaps' Rymer Liriano is 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base.

And the TinCaps lead the Lansing Lugnuts 5-2 after six innings at Parkview Field.

The TinCaps trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the third before B.J Guinn scored on Rico Noel's bunt to the pitcher. That was followed by a Liriano RBI double for a 2-1 lead.

Lansing tied it in the top of the fourth on Bryson Namba's RBI single.

But Fort Wayne responded in the bottom of the inning. After a ground ball from Emmanuel Quiles, Lansing second baseman Oliver Dominguez's throwing error toward first base allowed Wes Cunningham to score for a 3-2 Fort Wayne lead.

The TinCaps got two more in the bottom of the sixth – Cory Spangenberg had an RBI single, and Spangenberg beat out right-fielder Michael Crouse's throw to home after a Luis Domoromo sacrifice fly – for a 5-2 lead.
