South Bend tops Fort Wayne

South Bend scored six runs in the third inning and held on for a 9-8 victory against Fort Wayne in front 3,327 fans Wednesday at Parkview Field.

Roberto Rodriguez, Yazy Arbelo and Matt Helm hit home runs for the Silver Hawks.

Luis Domoromo drew a bases-loaded walk with one out in the ninth to get Fort Wayne within 9-8. Connor Powers and Wes Cunningham struck out to end the game.

With West Michigan's win, the teams are now tied for the final playoff spot.
