Fun with Manti

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly had a little fun with reporters when asked about a comment Manti Te'o said during a news conference Wednesday.

The junior linebacker said he was going to go to USC until he prayed on it a few days before signing day, and then the Laie, Hawaii, native decided he would sign with Notre Dame.

"Notre Dame, USC, I don't know that it was really that much thought, I think he threw that in there to make the people at USC feel good," Kelly said Thursday, drawing a round of laughs from reporters. "I really think it was a no-brainer if you ask me. He's such a nice kid; I can see him saying that."

The fun didn't stop at Te'o's signing day decision. Kelly was also asked whether he saw the star defensive player's 5-year-old brother in the football building.

"I did, we've already offered him," Kelly said with a big smile. "I don't think we can."
