    Seventeen members of the 2009 TinCaps have broken into the major leagues, a Class A record, according to information provided by the TinCaps from Sports Reference president Sean Forman.

Fort Wayne clobbers South Bend

The TinCaps had a season-high 21 hits in a 12-0 victory against South Bend in front of 8,050 fans Friday at Parkview Field.

All nine batters had at least one hit.

Mike Gallic had four hits. Cory Spangenberg, Rocky Gale and Connor Powers had three hits.

Fort Wayne remains tied for the final playoff spot with West Michigan. The Whitecaps topped Lake County 3-0. The TinCaps close the season with three games at West Michigan. The series starts Saturday.
