Game tied early in the second quarter

Saturday's game between Indiana and Ball State at Lucas Oil Stadium is tied at 7 early in the second quarter.

IU scored on its opening possession. Matt Perez rushed for a 9-yard score.

The Hoosiers went 76 yards in 15 plays. IU worked quickly with a no-huddle offense. Quarterback Edward Wright-Baker completed all four of his passes in the opening drive.

He was 5 for 5 in the first quarter for 31 yards.

Ball State tied the game with a touchdown at 14:20 of the second quarter. Quarterback Keith Wenning threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Barrington Scott. The Cardinals went 84 yards in 13 plays.

Scott, from Fort Wayne, had 3 carries for nine yards in the first quarter.
