Boilers win in exciting fashion

WEST LAFAYETTE - Junior quarterback Caleb TerBush, making his first start, fired a 35-yard touchdown pass to Antavian Edison with 49 seconds remaining to give Purdue a 27-24 come-from-behind season-opening victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium. TerBush's pass to Edison culminated an 85-yard drive that began with 3:53 remaining in the game. TerBush completed 5 of 6 passes on the drive for a combined 74 yards. Middle Tennessee's drive at the end of the game died at the Purdue 30-yard line when Alan Gendreau's 47-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Ricardo Allen as the clock expired.
