A mobile canine outreach clinic is scheduled in Fort Wayne on Oct. 1.
It is noon to 4 p.m. outside Faith United Methodist Church, 207 E. Dewald St.
Services include:
- H.O.P.E. for Animals – Free rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines, $5 heartworm tests, spay/neuter vouchers for pit bull type dogs.
- Allen County SPCA – $5 microchips.
- Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry – Free food distribution.
- Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition – Education and assistance for pit bull owners.
Q: Is this program for pit bulls only?
A: Spay/Neuter Vouchers are for pit bull type dogs only, all other services are available to all breeds of dogs
Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: There are no appointments. All services will be available on a first come/first serve basis
Q: Is there any cost for the spay/neuter vouchers?
A: Yes, a co-pay of $15 for males and $20 for females is due the date of the event. If funding is available at the end of the clinic, please contact H.O.P.E. for Animals for vouchers.
Q: When will I be able to schedule the spay/neuter surgery?
A: H.O.P.E. representatives will be on site to schedule the surgery for the 2 weeks following the event
Q: How many dogs will you be doing vaccines on?
A: We have 250 each of rabies and distemper/parvo combo, we will service as many dogs as these vaccines allow.
Q: What are the costs for heartworm tests and microchips?
A: $5 each
Q: Will heartworm preventative be available for purchase?
A: Yes, only with a negative result from the heartworm test performed on-site, while supplies last.
