Here is Indiana coach Kevin Wilson discussing Saturday's opponent South Carolina State.
"They've got a simple and sound concept of defensive philosophy and structure. They are sound in what they are doing, well-coached in what they are doing," he said. "They will pick their spots to blitz and they do blitz. They know that they are going to have good enough athletes that they don't try to overcoach them. They are very solid and solid in their structure. The kids know where they are going, they know their gap responsibilities. They know the patterns, the reads and what is going on. When they blitz, they know how to pressure. As they play, because they've got good athletes, when you know what you're doing you start playing fast. You watch their kids and they cut it loose and play really good football.
"They played reasonably well up at Central Michigan in the opener. I think you saw last week that Central was going neck and neck with Kentucky for quite a while. I think actually they had a chance in the second half to win that game, so Central is not a slouch. They've been a very strong program recently, and they kind of toed up with those guys. Then they played Bethune-Cookman, and the last two years their league has come down to the winner of that game. They've traveled to Central and played a solid opponent, they've played their best conference opponent, so they are kind of well-prepped coming in to play us in game three."
