Here's what defenseman Brandon Warner, a Huntertown native, who accepted an invitation to training camp with the Komets, had to say:
"I'm fighting for a job. My mentality is to do anything I can to make the team. I need this job to support my family. I've got things in the back of my mind driving me. There's the anger from last year (being left off the playoff roster), and I want to prove to (coach Al Sims) and (general manager David Franke) that I can play here."
Warner turned down other offers in the CHL to return for a fifth shot with the Komets.
"I didn't know if I could go anywhere else and play against the Komets. And I feel I have something to prove. I don 't want to go out on this note," said Warner, a defenseman, who helped the Komets to three championships in the IHL.
