New Komets TV show

The Komets and Indiana's News Center unveiled plans for a weekly program, "INC Soundoff with the Komets," which will air Monday nights on WPTA TV 21 beginning Oct. 10.

The half-hour show will be aired live from Wrigley Field Bar and Grill and will feature a Komets player or coach as a co-host, alongside INC's Tommy Schoegler. There will be highlights, interviews, special segments and viewer call-ins.

"This weekly format will give us a chance to provide a level of insight into Komet Hockey that is long overdue for our fans," said Scott Sproat, the Komets' executive vice president and co-owner. "We're excited and we thank INC for recognizing the opportunity and demand for the show as part of our upcoming 60th anniversary season. Their reputation for coverage of Fort Wayne sports made 21 Alive a logical media partner for the show."

Justin A. Cohn, pro sports coordinator for The Journal Gazette, has been covering the Fort Wayne Komets since 1997. His reporting includes game stories from home and away, features about the players and personalities associated with the Komets, plus coverage of issues affecting hockey at all levels. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Cohn graduated from Emory University in Atlanta. He can be reached at 260-461-8429 or by email at jcohn@jg.net.
