Perry firms up visit to Indianapolis

The Indiana Republican Party has released details of an Oct. 12 visit to Indiana by presidential hopeful Rick Perry.

The Texas governor will speak at 2 p.m. at the Columbia Club on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. The event is free and open to the public.

Perry will be the fourth candidate for the GOP presidential nomination to campaign in Indianapolis at the invitation of the state party's leadership. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney spoke Friday at a downtown hotel, and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and ex-Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain visited the Hoosier capital in August.

Romney and Perry have been the recent front-runners in a GOP race that currently has nine candidates, although Cain won a Florida straw poll Saturday.
