Paulette Bently, of Warsaw, emailed us the other day to let us know that she and Lorri Courtney, of Fort Wayne, sent handmade items to New Zealand to be on display during the world rugby championship.
Paulette's daughter, Lisa, a Kendallville native, lives in Devonport, New Zealand and the championship is in nearby Auckland, she tells us.
So, to welcome those riding the ferry from Auckland to Devonport, someone decided to decorate a railing along the wharf where visitors will arrive with hand knit or crocheted pieces.
The results are pretty stunning. See the attached photo.
Lorri Courtney, of Fort Wayne, has been a knitter since 1980 and says while she enjoys all sorts of crafting, she always comes back to knitting and crocheting. She has an Etsy shop.
Paulette Bently is registered as an interior designer in Indiana and works independently as a design consultant with P Bently Designs. She says she has been a fiber artist of all types since she was 10 and first learned to knit. She crocheted her submission for the New Zealand project.
