Irish missing 2 defensive players

Notre Dame will play tonight's game at Purdue without one of its prized freshman defensive lineman.

Stephon Tuitt did not travel with the team because of a violation of team policies, the university announced before the game.

Tuitt has three tackles in three games, and the 6-foot-6, 295-pounder has been providing good depth on the line.

The Irish are also without outside linebacker Danny Spond. The sophomore was listed as a backup on the depth chart, but it appears his hamstring injury will keep him out of a third straight game.
