Next up for five questions this season is senior nose guard Sean Cwynar.
What is the most difficult part of practice for you to get through?
The most difficult part of practice, that's a good question. I think the most difficult part would probably be at the end when you usually do some team stuff, you know the ones vs. ones. Going against the starters, you know, we have a great offensive line, and going against Braxton Cave and Trevor Robinson and Chris Watt, I would say that's probably the toughest part. They are great players, and it really prepares you for the game, seeing them every day in practice.
Is there one play in the Notre Dame playbook that you get excited about running when it's called?
I like two-gapping a lot. I like being head-up on the center. I think that is fun. You get to use leverage and a lot of technique. And really, technique wins the day on that. It's not all about strength or power. The opportunities where I get to play my technique and my true fundamentals that you use every day in practice, that's what I enjoy the most.
What is your favorite thing to do away from football?
I usually watch TV or hang out with friends or listen to music. I'm a big Dave Matthews Band fan. I love going to Dave Matthews Band concerts. I went to three this summer (during a weekend festival in Chicago), and I think I've been to 15 total.
Do you have a favorite TV show and why?
I like watching CNBC a lot, and I like watching the financial markets. Being in the MBA program, you get to see a lot of business things. (Cwynar is taking the accelerated MBA program this year.) I really like things that get my mind away from sports a little bit. You are around it so much, I try to stay away from the ESPNs. I like Seinfeld a lot. That's a classic and one of my favorite TV shows.
If you were marooned on an island, which teammate would you want with you and why?
There are two options. The first one would be (right tackle) Trevor Robinson. He was my roommate when I first got here, and I lived with him for three years, so I know that he is a good roommate and he would take care of me. Or it would be (backup nose guard) Brandon Newman. I could bring him along for some laughs. He's the team jokester, and he's one of the funniest guys.
Let me know if there are any questions you don't like and what you have asked. Also, if you have a player you would want to answer the questions, let me know and I'll try to get to them this season.
