Does a slight change to a website equal capitulation over the facts? That is tough to tell in a campaign season.
But the Mayor Tom Henry campaign was quick to point out Republican Paula Hughes recently changed her campaign website to more accurately reflect job loss data.
Originally the site said “we’ve lost nearly 14,000 jobs,” which was changed to “thousands of jobs.” The Henry campaign has argued the 14,000 number was based on the Fort Wayne metropolitan area, which includes far more than just the city limits.
Of course by drawing attention to the change, the Henry campaign is also drawing people to read Hughes more general criticism of the mayor.
