Illini lead after first quarter

Illinois leads Indiana 14-10 after the first quarter Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

Big plays dominated the opening quarter. Shane Wynn returned the opening kick 99 yards for a touchdown to give the Hoosiers a 7-0 lead.

Mitch Ewald made a 44-yard field goal to stretch the lead to 10-0.

Illinois scored its first touchdown on a 77-yard touchdown pass from Nate Scheelhaase to A.J. Jenkins.

The Illini took the lead when Tavon Wilson picked up a Dusty Kiel fumble and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown.

Kiel started the game at quarterback for the Hoosiers. Tre Roberson has seen some action as a backup.
